Winners of Fashion Colorworks 2012

The third international Fashion Colorworks 2012 Beading Contest is history now. We are grateful to the entrants for their hard work, to the jurors for their fair judgment, to the sponsors for provided prizes, and to all website visitors for helping us keep the contest alive. This year we received 191 entries from 125 participants of 28 countries! We are looking forward to seeing bead artists from all over the world in 2013 and believe that the next year contest will make another success!

Fashion Colorworks 2012. Half month to go!

Half month to go, and we'll start accepting entries for the second International Fashion Colorworks 2012 Beading Contest. As to me, I'm excited! I expect even more success this year. The beadworkers are to submit their works in three categories: Seed Bead Jewelry, Finished Jewelry, and Beaded Objects and Accessories, and the color combinations are below. The second international Fashion Colorworks 2011 Beading Contest is over! We would like to say THANK YOU to all entrants, jurors, and sponsors who helped us make the contest successful. 99 participants from 25 countries submitted 149 entries! Today we celebrate our bead holiday together, with our winners, all participants, jurors, sponsors, and bead lovers. In general, we reached our goal and feel happy! We are looking forward to seeing all of them in 2012 and hope that the next year contest would attract more artists!

Beads Unlimited aka The Brighton Bead Shop at 25.

It's hard to believe that it's 25 years since Beads Unlimited aka The Brighton Bead Shop opened its doors for the first time. On that first icy Brighton day in March 1986, notable for it's three-inch snowfall, the shop was sparsely populated and less than fifty pounds was taken. A quarter of a century on and Beads Unlimited is now a highly successful, stately, silver haired lady and an essential part of the beading community.

To celebrate their Silver Jubilee, Beads Unlimited is running bucketloads of competitions, give-aways and charity events throughout the year. One of the most important parts of their Jubilee year is their charity pledge. Beads Unlimited aim to raise £10,000 for the RNLI. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is run solely by volunteers across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. They provide 24-hour lifeboats and seasonal lifeguards dedicated to saving lives at sea.

To help reach their target, The Brighton Bead Shop will be hosting a ton of in-store events and some of the staff will be competing in various sports fundraisers including a Brighton pier to pier swim!
